Where To Find The Parts And Equipment You Need For Your Big Rig

If you drive a semi-truck locally or on the road, you will eventually need to find replacement truck equipment and parts for the vehicle as things get old or wear out. Some of the equipment you are looking for may be essential, while other parts may be add-ons for your rig, but in either case, you need to know where to look to find the right products for your needs.

Truck Dealerships

In many cases, the local truck dealership will carry the truck equipment and parts that you are looking for and will offer service to install them for you. Often the parts available from the dealer include replacement parts for the truck. Still, many parts departments also carry specialty aftermarket parts that you may need to customize your semi-truck or add something that looks great and adds function.

Something like a truck visor for the top of the windshield can make your truck look great, but it will also help reduce the amount of sun coming in through the glass, lowering the temperature inside the cab, and making it easier for the driver to see the road. Many dealerships that sell these kinds of equipment also offer installation services if you need them, but talk with the service department if you need to have something you purchased installed on the truck.

Truck Stops And Specialty Shops

Truck stops are a great place to find truck equipment and parts you may need while on the road. Some of the larger truck stops and travel centers offer a wide variety of parts and accessories for many different makes and models of trucks, and some have a service center to work on your truck as well.

In some parts of the country, you may find yourself driving across long stretches of open highway without a town for many miles. Often, truck stops and travel centers along these stretches of road are the only places to get fuel, take a break, or find truck equipment and parts for many miles.

These locations may have an emergency repair center on-site that you can use to make repairs and replace parts if required. They typically have many of the parts on hand, making the shop more effective and able to help more drivers that have breakdowns and need service as they travel through the area.

In some locations are mega truck stops that offer lots of accessories in their store, and some even advertise their chrome shop to get drivers to come to the plaza as they come through and buy the truck equipment and parts they are looking for to dress up their truck. These large travel plazas often have stock parts, accessories items, electronics, food, and other services like showers and restrooms drivers can take advantage of, making them a destination along the route.
